- Produce, anchor and edit the The AkronNewsNow.com Update, a video newscast on www.AkronNewsNow.com, posted weekdays.

- Multi-platform content: Post stories to the web, edit photos, post audio and video, create slideshows and video packages, and manage breaking and general news updates for AkronNewsNow.com.

- Oversee all AkronNewsNow.com accounts for social networks including Twitter, Facebook and Skype.

 -  Update the 24/7 streaming news station “WAKRNewsNow” with new features each morning. Coordinate with morning show hosts for new content to add. Edit the daily logs and clocks to manage the flow of content.

Anchor

-Evaluated local and national news packages for inclusion with WVIZ’s NewsOhio – a weekly 20-minute television program that explores citizenship, voting, First Amendment rights, health and social service issues.

-Wrote scripts and assisted in setting the rundown prior to anchoring assigned NewsOhio stories. Incorporated e-mail responses into NewsOhio’s student-driven ‘Buzz’ segment.

-Wrote and edited evening newscast rundown, gathered and edited VOs and VOSOT’s. Wrote copy for Web from packages, court and beat checks. Shadowed reporters in the field, practiced standup techniques and videography styles. Assisted reporters with writing packages and logging bites.

-Anchored and assisted production of daily newscasts for Kent State University and Portage County. Enterprised and investigated stories for newscasts. Reported court, local government and Kent schools news.

-Edited stories for converged student media Web site KentNewsNet.com. Gathered information via record requests and off-the-record interviews.

-Created and launched BSR’s first daily news program and first BSR news team. Anchored daily top- and bottom-of-the-hour recorded newscasts, then launched the BSR News Team in the third semester of its operation.

-Trained student reporters and brought in local professionals to critique writing and wraps. Started ‘News in a Nutshell’ podcast in 2005 for ‘News-on-the-go’.

The recent recipient of the 2010 Ohio Associated Press Broadcasters Best Reporter award, now works as a Web editor and Producer for www.AkronNewsNow.com.

Lindsay has worked more than four years in commercial radio as an Anchor/Reporter for 1590 WAKR, Akron, Ohio.

As a mulitmedia journalist, Lindsay produces and anchors the daily vodcast The AkronNewsNow Update. The daily video is delivered to a wide audience not only on AkronNewsNow.com, but also on Facebook, YouTube and via Twitter. Lindsay manages AkronNewsNow.com’s social networking applications and manages contents on the 24/7 streaming station WAKRNewsNow.

Lindsay started in the business as a co-anchor for two years on WVIZ/PBS’s “NewsOhio”, a show which stressed the importance of citizenship and civics to a high school audience. While working at WAKR, Lindsay interned for WKYC-TV in Akron, Ohio producing content for Channel 3 News.

Her scholastic experience includes a degree from Kent State University and multiple scholarships from RTNDA, including selection for the Rob Sunde Award given to the outstanding scholarship recipient of the year. The Sunde Award allowed Lindsay to work for two weeks at WTVF-TV Nashville, Tennessee.
